Best Products for Relieving Pain While Traveling

Travelling can literally be a pain!  You can experience neck, back, leg, or other strains from sitting and standing.  Pulling large bags or wearing heavy backpacks can be tiring. Whether you travel every week for work, or you are traveling for the first time in awhile, an entire afternoon of navigating through the airport will put stress on your body.

There are many ways to reduce those strains while you are spending long days traveling. While you are waiting in the terminal or sitting on a long flight, you should still focus on moving your muscles. Be sure to get up and walk or stretch while seated, and shift positions often to keep your blood circulating.  It is also important to keep your body hydrated, and to drink plenty of water.

My mom currently sells a variety of pain relief products, so I spoke to her for additional advice on how someone can relieve pain while traveling, especially when stretching and drinking water just isn’t enough. The below is what she had to share!

There may be times that you have tried the basic remedies mentioned, but you need something else. You may not be interested in ingesting something with harsh chemicals or potential side effects, especially if you are traveling.  If you are still achy, the best solution may be a topical pain relief lotion.

A topical lotion is ideal, as it can target the precise area where you need it and is so easy to use. You can apply the lotion directly to where you feel the pain, and it will go away quickly. Bath Bombs // When I am sore from traveling all day, or even when I have spent the entire day rushing around on my feet, I like to use a pain relief bath bomb. It is like taking a bath in the pain lotion when you are aching all over. After soaking in a bath for 10 minutes, I already feel much more relaxed and the aches are gone. Bath bombs are also easy to pack, since they are not a liquid. 

Nujuvena CBD Plus // What I really appreciate about this product is that it has received the Clean Label Project Purity Award – only 1 in every 200 CBD products receive this award.  Products containing CBD are not currently regulated, so it is important to know what you are buying.  Nujuvena CBD Plus has 62.5 mg of CBD/ounce and is fast-acting on aches without any burning sensation.  This is not available in a travel size, but I put it in my checked luggage because it is powerful relief for acute pain.  I find that it works great on my back.  If my knees are aching, I will use it and put a layer of MAXX on top.  The combination of formulas add more relief.

George Foreman // This lotion has more natural ingredients than any other over-the-counter pain reliever and works well on muscle and joint pain.  I like to rub this on the back of my neck and my lower back, and it helps relieve stress and tension from sitting in those weird positions on a flight.

Night-Time // If I am having a hard time sleeping, especially when I’m not in my own bed, I like to use the Night-Time formula. This formula has melatonin and a tranquil lavender scent.  I rub it on wherever I may be aching, or on the bottom of my feet just before sleeping. This goes in my checked luggage as it does not come in a travel size, but it ensures I can get a good night’s rest.

Foot Cream // The Foot Cream is a favorite of mine, as it soothes my tired achy feet and is great on blisters and dry cracked feet.  I also like to use it on my hands when they feel dry in the winter or during a flight.  I also apply a layer over any of the other products regardless of where my ache is, and the foot cream miraculously helps push the lotion deeper to where the pain is.

MAXX Pain Cream // The MAXX pain cream is infused with menthol and is peppermint-enriched, working great on intense pain like sprains and cramps. I like that it comes in a roll-on too,which is TSA approved.

There are so many other products, including the Original (for everyday aches and pains), Active (comes in a roll-on, so you don’t get it on your hands when you are working out), and hand cream (great for arthritis). There is also a lip balm, face cream, and even eczema, acne, anti-itch lotions.
