How to Get to Gatineau, Quebec
Depending on where you are coming from, you can get to Gatineau by plane and land in our Capital’s City, Ottawa. From here you can rent a car, take the public transportation (OC Transpo) or a Taxi to get to Gatineau. The buses that operate in Gatineau are through the STO system, and they are pretty frequent.
The main way to get around Gatineau is by rental cars, public transportation (http://m.sto.ca/) or biking. Nothing is too far, and you can allow up to 20 minutes to major places. Uber is also an option if you are on a budget!

Visit the museums // You definitely want to visit the Canadian Museum of History! This popular museum is the main attraction of the city and you can expect to learn the full History of Canada and its culture here. They are three galleries at the museum to enjoy, which are the Grand Hall, Fort People’s Hall and Canada Hall. It is also home to the large IMAX theatre, which I promise you will love. Here is a little bonus for you; most Museums are free from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm daily!
Spend the Evening at Casino Lac Leamy // If you are looking for the perfect nightlife, you will not be disappointed with Gatineau’s largest Casino! It has everything you might need just under one roof. The first thing is we will suggest is that you stay at the Hilton Lac Leamy Hotel for the night, which is part of the casino, and here you can enjoy the benefits the hotel has to offer such as the pool and the hotel spa! You can then head over to the cocktail bar, enjoy some entertainment at the club and do some fun gambling should you wish!
Spend the Evening at Le Nordik Spa // If you are looking for a relaxing moment after a hard day of work, be sure to visit the most beautiful Spa experience you will ever have at Le Nordik Spa! Le Nordik Spa is a relaxation and healing centre that focuses mostly on heat therapy and relaxation techniques from Scandinavian countries. I have visited this spa frequently and you can expect to have a great time on a Friday evening or the weekend!
Attend the Hot Air Balloon Festival // You have a choice of both booking and reserving a private ride on the hot air balloon. They typically depart two hours after sunrise and two hours before sunset when it is most stable wind wise! The ride typically last anywhere from 20-90 minutes depending on the direction and the wind speed. I love the hot air balloon rides and I recommend doing it at least once in your life! There is no better place to do this than in Gatineau with the experts.
Visit the Mackenzie King Estate // The Mackenzie King Estate is located in the Gatineau Park. The estate is beautiful especially during the summer months and they make for beautiful Instagram photos. Fun facts, the estate belonged to Canada’s 10th Prime Minister, William Lyon Mackenzie King. He spent almost 50 years from 1903-1950 beautifying it and expanding the property to what it is now. He left his property and estate to all Canadians to enjoy!
