Ellis James Jewelry & Makeup Bag Review

When traveling for work, I always aim to travel with just a carry-on suitcase and my laptop bag. When my trips are less than a week long, I don’t want to have to worry about checking a bag. I was in the market for a new makeup bag, and I came across the Ellis James Designs brand. The price point was great and I could buy their products on Amazon, so I just had to figure out which bag would be the best fit for my travel style.

Enter the Ellis James Jewelry & Makeup Bag. This 2-in-1 bag doubles with a section with pockets for your makeup, and then a separate zippered section to organize your jewelry while traveling. Rather than putting all of my jewelry into a small pouch where it gets tangled, this was a perfect solution. I hadn’t seen any products like this before, so I was excited to give this jewelry and makeup case a try. It looked like the perfect solution for packing for work trips.

2-in-1 Jewelry and Makeup Bag

The makeup section of this 2-in-1 bag from Ellis James Designs has plenty of room for my daily routine. There are two small pockets and 5 brush holders. Honestly, I just dump everything in here with no care for organization. I did find the brush holders a bit tight – they can fit a tube of mascara, but nothing larger.

The jewelry section has 8 button clasps, so you organize a wide variety of jewelry pieces. That might be 8 bracelets, or 4 necklaces, a few rings, or some other combination. There is an earring carrier that could hold 15 pairs of earrings. There is also a pocket for miscellaneous items.

How I Pack My Jewelry and Makeup Case

Fortunately, this cosmetic case from Ellis James Designs fits snugly in my carry-on, about as tall as one half of my suitcase. I still pack my liquid foundation in my toiletry bag, but the rest of the items fit easily in the bag. I love having the combination jewelry and makeup case – it’s one less case I need to pack, and it is easy to keep all of my getting ready items together.

This bag is made of nylon, making it easy to clean. It doesn’t feel as luxurious as some other cases I have seen, but this case is wonderful for the price it is sold at. The jewelry and makeup case is sold in black, grey, and beige and can be found on Amazon. I highly recommend this case for traveling with your carry-on, and I hope to own more Ellis James Designs bags in the future.
